North Sea exclusion zone set as gas surges from leak
Tue Mar 27, 2012
And what is being released? Lots of methane in the natural gas, and a mixture of other hydrocarbons, and a little CO2. Where's the problem? (This is sarcasm for those of you who need a hint).
Mangled horses, maimed jockeys: Death and disarray at America's racetracks
Sun Mar 25, 2012
It IS time to end this barbaric "sport." All sentient creatures deserve more respect and care than most of these horses receive. We use them for our purposes and then treat them as throwaway things when they break, or we're done with them. They have no choice in the matter.
Family: 911 calls show shooting of black teen was not self-defense
Sat Mar 17, 2012
These types of things will continue to happen in our gun crazy society, especially since so many who carry them feel insecure and powerless until they have the gun in their hands. That kind of person with a gun is a dangerous thing.
'Tea and Occupy' -- a discussion/debate between members of the two movements
Mon Jan 9, 2012
This is a bad idea. There is little or no common ground between the Occupy movement and the teabaggers. Only the mainstream media, trying to breathe a little life into the almost defunct teabagger group, keeps them alive. It is an insult to Occupy to say that there IS common ground here.
Stephen Hawking at 70: How has he survived so long?
Thu Jan 5, 2012
What an amazing man. I hope that Dr. Hawking has many more happy birthdays.
Looking for the American Dream? Move to Canada
Thu Jan 5, 2012
I find it hilarious that the Republicans pretend to be alarmed by this trend. They and their ignorant voters are pretty much the cause of it, and the guy everyone seems to want to worship, Reagan, accelerated this trend during his and Nancy's term.
NYPD investigates firebomb attacks on Muslims, Hindus
Mon Jan 2, 2012
This seems like the typical act of hatred from the extreme right, but now Hindus? Good grief.
Colorado driver killed by branch steered car to safety
Mon Jan 2, 2012
I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure he was a fine man, and will be missed at NIST. Condolences to his family for their terrible loss.
Ohio suspends well operations after series of quakes
Mon Jan 2, 2012
Please, people, learn some science in high school. It would take a whole LOT of small quakes to release the energy building up in a slipping fault.
Man jailed for year for pirating 'Wolverine' movie
Tue Dec 20, 2011
Jailed for this? Good grief! No wonder the great US of A is the jail capital of the world. Oh, wait. He committed a crime against a business. No wonder. Rapist, you go free so we can make room in our jail for this guy who downloaded something he shouldn't have!
